What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program designed to enhance an individual's GPP or General Physical Preparedness. Our members train as athletes and are trained to prepare for a wide array of challenges.
The beauty of CrossFit is its radical democratization of elite training methods. CrossFit is responsible for introducing everyday folks to performance oriented fitness. Everyday folks come to the gym and train with the same methodologies as track and field athletes, olympic weightlifters, and gymnasts. What does this mean for you? It means you will come to the gym and do compound, multi-joint movements rather than isolation movements. CrossFit does not focus on long, slow duration aerobic activity, but rather intense, interval based training - The kind of training that will train your body to be more powerful and explosive.
CrossFit understands the body as a composite whole, rather than as a series of isolated parts. You won't find any machines at our gym, such as a leg press or pec dec machine. Instead, you will learn proper squat mechanics, the clean and jerk and how to do real honest push-ups and pull-ups.
